In September, I was ecstatic to launch Bilingdle. However, my excitement soon shifted to concern.
The initial feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with several individuals enthusiastically sharing the game with their friends. However, a significant issue arose within a few days: the game consistently crashed on Chrome browsers used on Android phones, the most prevalent browser on the most widely-used phone OS.
Initially, this setback left me disheartened. I questioned whether my efforts in developing the game had been in vain. These doubts and experiences are detailed on my personal website. Nevertheless, I was determined not to let this hurdle hinder my vision for Bilingdle – to be an engaging Spanish and English word game.
A temporary solution to the crashing issue emerged shortly thereafter, restoring accessibility for all users. However, I aspired for a more robust solution. To prevent future issues, I embarked on a complete overhaul of Bilingdle.
This overhaul entailed rewriting the game in a new programming language, specifically optimized for web browsers rather than solely for gaming purposes.
After nearly two months of diligent work, I am delighted to announce that the comprehensive rewrite has been successfully implemented and operational for over two weeks!
